Questions Potential Clients Frequently Ask

How much will a new website cost?

As each client’s requirement for their website is different, it’s impossible to put a single price on a new website.   Many of my small business clients have paid just a few hundred pounds, and some a lot more, but generally speaking the more information you can have ready for me before I start, the cheaper it will be.  I understand the budgets of small businesses as I am one myself, and therefore my prices reflect this.

What is WordPress

WordPress is a superb content management system that makes it great for developers to create engaging and great performing websites.  With a little training client are able to manage their website’s content themselves which is both fun for the client and also keeps costs down.

Logos

Most clients usually have an established brand and therefore a logo.  If you do need a logo, or your existing logo amending to fit the website design, then this is no problem at all and I am happy to help.

Will I be able to update my website myself?

Absolutely.  I have always encouraged my clients to take control of their website.  Gone are the days where ‘some’ developers as good as held clients to ransom, charging a great deal of money to make simple website amendments.

Once your website is finished, I’ll give you a little training and then you will be good to go.

When do I pay?

Quite often I will give you a flat price for your website work.  Depending on the size of the quote I usually request a deposit of 50% and the remainder paid upon completion of the project, at which point your website will be uploaded to the webserver and made live.

For more complex time consuming projects I will often agree with the client an approximate price, and then project may be billed on an hourly rate basis.

Can you maintain my website for me?

Absolutely, I have three tiers of support packages available, all very reasonably priced.

Who writes the content for my website?

That will usually be you as no one will know your business better than you.  Often I have clients who maybe are not great at writing copy, so sometimes I will help clients create their website content.  The good news is that often ‘less is more’ and a simple approach is the best.

What about Images

Ideally you will be able to supply me with the images.  I will then ensure they are the right size, proportion and format for use on your site, and export according to the requirements.  Basically, make the images the right size and ensure they load as fast as possible.

If you need any images supplying, I can both source great images, or come along with my camera and take an images / video that is required.

What if I need help with my website at a later date?

Just call or email me and I am always happy to help.  If it’s something quite simple then more often than not I will do this for free.  If it’s something more time consuming then I will give you a quote for my time and take it from there.  But, I want your website experience to be a happy successful one, so I am always willing to help.
